After visiting the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam, I was fascinated by the correlation between mental health and substance abuse with quantity and quality of work in Van Gogh’s life. This infographic is a timeline of Van Gogh’s life as an artist. It shows the number and prominence of paintings he created in relationship to the events that took place in his life each year. In the timeline I also highlight big artistic shifts, such as color pallets and techniques that changed overtime.
